(OUTscene TV) CLASSIC: MK remembers Holiday Legends Eartha Kitt and Rosemary Clooney!

Kitt's method (in 2004) of seducing young men: Champagne!
By MK Scott

Since it is Christmas, I remember 2 of the greatest Legends I had the opportunity to meet that both have contributed to the Holiday in a Big way.

Tuesday marks the 4th anniversary of the passing of Eartha Kitt (Who is known for the classic, 'Santa Baby') and I remember meeting her as she performed at Seattle's Jazz Alley in 2004. After the show, I made way to her dressing room and was greeted by her publicist, "Are you Mr. Scott?". I said "Yes". The publicist then added, "We have been expecting you!"

(MK SCOTT) MK Talks Marriage with 'I DO' Writer/Star, David W. Ross!

by MK Scott

Last month, during the Seattle Lesbian and Gay Film Festival I had the pleasure to meet and chat with the Writer and Star of 'I DO'. Now that Washington, Maine and Maryland have joined New York as well as others to allow same-sex marriage, 'I DO' goes beyond the state protections and focuses on another cause that I think needs to be resolved. As I learned from my interview (June 2011) with Judy Rickard and her book, Torn Apart: United by Love, Divided by Law, state protections are not recognized under federal immigration law. David W. Ross' 'I DO' is a beautifully written and acted that brings up the issue.

INTER-View: Indigo Girls in Symphony on NA Concert Tour!

IndigoGirls420
by Sunny Clark

At the core of Indigo Girls beat the brave hearts of activism. Amy Ray and Emily Saliers have always marched to their own drummers, making out the beats of inner wisdom in music, as in life, by championing the rights of society’s marginalized, often playing fundraisers and adding original folk to the lore of too-often martyred victims. Many of us have grown up on Indigo Girl anthems, feeling that much “Closer To Fine,” for having adopted them as our own.
Conducting a career in the public eye with the courage of convictions while earning seven gold records, four of them platinum, and record sales of over 12 million, isn’t the only kind of challenge Indigo Girls embrace. Now touring in support of their 14th studio album, the masterful Beauty Queen Sister the Grammy Award-winning folk/rock duo are also performing select shows with various orchestras around the country. The veteran performers are dedicated to connecting with their audience, so Indigo Girls performing a tour within a tour seems a next step in the marriage of their musical aspirations and level of commitment.

(MK SCOTT) MK's EXCLUSIVE 'Joint' INTER-view with DTLA Stars, Danny Roberts and Julie Goldman!

by MK Scott

The new series DTLA premieres on Logo on Oct. 24 and 2 of the cast members are OUTscene Pals, Julie Goldman (Big Gay Sketch Show) and Danny Roberts (Real World). So I was able to get them Both for an JOINT interview (Done separate but combined for this Post) and it turned out while doing the series they never met or crossed paths.

Danny Roberts was a member of the cast of The Real World: New Orleans back in 2000. His participation was especially memorable because Danny was dating a US Army Captain named Paul Dill whose face had to be blurred out on screen because the military’s anti-gay Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy was still in place. Roberts Lives in Seattle.

Julie Goldman was a cast member of Logo's Big Gay Sketch Show and is a frequent guest on Jonny McGovern's weekly podcast Gay Pimpin' with Jonny McGovern.

Additionally, Goldman currently write (under the direction of OUTscene Fave, Tony Tripoli) for Joan Rivers on Fashion Police on E!. I last interviewed Goldman in 2010.

INTER-view: OUTscene FAVE, Tripoli's Trippin' back to Seattle!

by Aiden Klein
Via SGN

'Stand-up comedy is just like meth - you'll eventually go broke and lose all your teeth.' But that will not stop Tony Tripoli from making his second appearance here in Seattle on August 17 and 18 at Re-bar (1114 Howell St.), where he will present his stand-up show, 'Tony Tripoli: Dirty, Sexy, Funny.' Yes, the smoking-hot lead writer for Joan Rivers is ready to dish it up with Seattleites once again, and no topic is off limits. 'There's a lot of shit out there that's wrong and I think we need to talk about it. For instance, that thing that Mrs. Rivers calls a face. Now lets discuss'.
